The Line Between Aggressive and Crazy

Suppose I offer you a bet. Flip a coin, heads you lose your entire bet, tails you win it back plus one and a half times, so a ten dollar bet becomes $25. And furthermore I’ll let you keep making this bet as many times as you like over the next hour, say.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a good investor?2020-01-16T22:42:05+00:00

A good investor follows a rules-based investment process that utilizes researched and well-analyzed information. They exercise discipline and only stray from their investment process when they are evaluating ways to improve it. Most of all a good investor is patient enough to see their strategy play out in full force.

What is your investment philosophy?2020-01-16T22:42:43+00:00

While actively trading stocks to beat the domestic stock market is proven to be a fool’s errand, we believe that by executing on a strategic investment process we can find opportunities in the global marketplace. Our investment philosophy consists of five pillars:

1. Diversify and optimally balance risk and return
2. Overweight investments with higher expected returns
3. Minimize taxes and fees to keep more of your wealth
4. Use moderate leverage to amplify returns
5. Trade with patience and care to get the best deal

How is your investment process different from other financial advisors?2020-07-22T15:04:26+00:00

Most financial advisors have given up on investing and follow a cookie-cutter asset allocation model that uses rules of thumb to dictate an optimal investment allocation. We take no shortcuts when it comes to adding value to our clients. We have engineered in house statistical software to help us make the most of real-time data to get the best risk-return balance, use the exact amount of leverage to amplify returns and minimize taxes via tax-loss harvesting.

How can you help me with concentrated and highly appreciated investments?2019-10-10T06:25:24+00:00

For our clients that have highly appreciated investment we don’t simply tell them to pull the Band-Aid and eat the taxes. We use institutional strategies to protect your investment while intelligently reducing it using tax loss harvesting. We will always take into consideration the risk, reward, and tax balance and will build a portfolio around your position if it makes more sense than to sell it.

What is the fee for your services?2020-01-16T22:44:33+00:00

RHS Financial charges its clients based on the assets that they entrust us to manage. These fees include not only investment management but also the financial planning and aspirational planning. We believe by being financially tied to your success it fully aligns our interests with yours.

Annual fee schedule:

  • 1% on the first $500,000.00;
  • 0.95% on the amount in excess of $500,000.00 but not greater than $1 million;
  • 0.90% on the amount in excess of $1 million, but not greater than $2.5 million;
  • 0.80% on the amount in excess of $2.5 million, but not greater than $5 million;
  • 0.70% on the amount in excess of $5 million.

These fees do not cover the transaction fees for purchasing or selling mutual funds, if there are any. We will typically invest in no-load, institutional class mutual funds, which do not carry a front-end sales charge or a deferred sales charge. Institutional share classes normally offer lower operating expenses. Trading fees will be minimized, when possible, as part of our investment management services. Trading fees typically are a de minimus fraction of the assets being managed on an annual basis.
